Fall PD Event – November 7, 2024

This three hour workshop focuses on school employee well-being. The workshop centers on using a socio-ecological approach to employee wellness, with strategies at the individual, interpersonal, and organizational levels. 

Webinar: New CDC Resource: Promoting Mental Health and Well-Being in Schools – An Action Guide for School and District Leaders

Join National Association of Chronic Disease Directors for a special presentation from CDC on their new resource, “Promoting Mental Health and Well-Being in Schools: An Action Guide for School and District Leaders”. This action guide highlights six in-school strategies that are proven to promote and support mental health and well-being. Learn more about the guide.

Spring PD Event – February 14, 2024

This three hour workshop focuses on effective implementation of staff and student well-being initiatives. Three major topics are addressed: Implementation science and continuous quality improvement, a step-by-step process for comprehensive staff well-being and student well-being initiatives with a focus on cultural competency and authentic student engagement.

Fall PD Event – November 15, 2023

This four hour workshop focuses on helping states and school districts establish an infrastructure to ensure a coordinated and cohesive effort to comprehensive school-based mental health programming. Three major topics are addressed: Aligning school health frameworks, teaming for success and data-driven decision-making. Presenters included The National Association of Chronic Disease Directors, Child Trends, Mental Health America, the Nebraska Department of Education, Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, Kelso School District (WA) and staff and student leaders. 

States and Districts Working Together to Advance Comprehensive School Employee Wellness - April 18, 2023

Now, more than ever, school leaders are thinking about how to promote well-being among their staff. However, traditional approaches have focused on physical and mental wellness skills and habits for staff, largely ignoring the role that workplace conditions can have on employee wellness. In this webinar presented by Child Trends, Mental Health America and NACDD, we’ll equip education leaders at state and district levels to expand conversations about supporting school employee wellness to create meaningful and sustainable improvements. We’ll also hear from folks who have been working to advance comprehensive school employee wellness at both the state and district level. They will share their successes, challenges, and lessons learned along the way.

Engaging Students in Building Emotional Self-Awareness - March 28, 2023

Presented by Mental Health America, Child Trends, and NACDD, join this webinar panel discussion to learn from others on the importance of youth mental health literacy, how personal/social/cultural factors impact how youth identify and manage emotions, and strategies educators can use to support students in developing self-awareness and emotional regulation.
