Learning and networking opportunity for epidemiologists and public health surveillance professionals.
In June 2023, NACDD launched the Epidemiology and Surveillance Interest Group (E/SIG) tailored for state health department practitioners. The E/SIG is designed to meet the needs of state-level chronic disease epidemiologists and public health surveillance professionals beyond routine grant-related activities.
The E/SIG promotes knowledge sharing, networking, and exposure to a variety of topics and methodologies outside of daily work. Some key areas of interest include:
Measuring social determinants of health
Assessing program impact on health equity
Quantifying special populations
Identifying best practices for measuring demographics (e.g., gender, sexual orientation, race/ethnicity)
Enhancing chronic disease surveillance with clinical data
Using mapping in chronic disease surveillance
Providing local estimates, especially in rural geographies
Join us on the second Tuesday of each month at 12-1 p.m. CT/1-2 p.m. ET for engaging discussions and expert-led sessions.
