On August 29-30, 2023, the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors’ Center for Advancing Healthy Communities convened states that are part of the Building Resilient Inclusive Communities (BRIC) program and State Partnerships Addressing Nutrition and Equity (SPINE) program for the Summit to Advance Healthy Communities

States shared successes and lessons learned through program implementation, learned about new topics that are relevant and complementary to their work, networked with peers, and identified strategies to support and sustain their BRIC and/or SPINE efforts. Participants engaged in rich action-oriented discussions around coalition and partnership building, collaborating with other health programs, funding and policy ideas, keeping equity at the center, and the art and science of storytelling.
