NACDD Trains Health Promotion Professionals With Work@Health Program

NACDD trains health promotion professionals in the CDC Work@Health curriculum to complement, amplify, and expand state-based efforts to engage employers in building effective and comprehensive workplace health programs. Work@Health is an evidence-based program that teaches employers how to implement health promotion strategies to reduce chronic disease and injury risk and improve productivity in the workplace.

NACDD maintains a robust repository of resources for Work@Health trainers and employers. In 2023, NACDD developed two new resources designed for trainers and employers to increase capacity around workplace health best practices. The first is the Worksite Wellness Success Series, which highlights states and organizations that are leaders in Work@Health and employee wellness. Read more about how Oklahoma is embracing Work@Health to improve employee health and well-being. A second story is currently being written to showcase the work of Active Southern West Virginia and their partners to remove employer barriers to physical activity and other modifiable risk factors.

The second new resource is the Work@Health Supplement Series which provides guidance on different topic areas to help trainers customize the curriculum to their employers’ needs. The first supplement, focused on school employee wellness, is available now on the online trainer portal. The next module in development focuses on supporting mental health in the workplace.

Visit the NACDD Work@Health website for additional information. Work@Health is a program of the Center for Advancing Healthy Communities.
