Last November a best practices summit was held in Chicago with select states that have hosted state engagement meetings to share experiences and prioritize next steps. Leaders from state and city health departments and some of their key partners, as well as representatives from NACDD and CDC participated in the event hosted by the American Medical Association.

After sharing information and a facilitated discussion the group identified these top priorities: 1) build a playbook of best practices to prevent type 2 diabetes and scale the National DPP and 2) build a learning collaborative of state leaders to continue to share ideas and practices that work.
