Healm: Diabetes Prevention for the Workforce

NACDD and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is launching Healm, a new diabetes prevention Employer Learning Collaborative (ELC) platform for the National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP), developed in collaboration with State Health Departments (SHDs). Healm is designed to lower the risk of prediabetes in the workforce with tools to design and implement an effective diabetes prevention program benefit for employees. Healm is the outcome of three years of partnership through the ELC and is based on findings from direct employer engagement.

Healm was recently introduced at a national virtual employer convening event on March 28, 2023, to increase promotion by national and regional partners. Speakers included Christopher Holliday, PhD, MPH, MA, FACHE, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Diabetes Translation, National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, and three employer champions who already cover the National DPP lifestyle change program. They spoke about their work successes and issued a call-to-action for key partners to further support Healm distribution.

Healm made its public debut with a poster presentation and exhibit at the IFEBP Art and Science of Health Promotion on March 29-31, 2023. Healm will also exhibit at the SHRM Annual Conference on June 11-14, 2023.

Watch for upcoming announcements on an NACDD Healm Employer Webinar coming soon. For more information, visit Healm.
