Last month, NACDD’s Cancer Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Learning Program team wrapped up another year of Member-informed learning and engagement events. Each series of events covered different topics that are relevant to public health professionals who work in CDC-funded National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Programs (NBCCEDP) and Colorectal Cancer Control Programs (CRCCP).
Participants engaged in discussions about electronic health record best practices, cancer screening options, and telling stories through data visualization. For each of these topics, we were proud to welcome experts from the University of Arizona Cancer Center, Abbott/Exact Sciences, and NACDD’s Evaluation Department. These esteemed presenters shared valuable insights from their fields during in-depth webinars. Following each webinar, P2P Learning Members joined facilitated discussions to share their own experiences about the respective topics.
The Cancer P2P program is a successful approach to sharing best practices for cancer public health programming across the nation. It wouldn’t be as effective as it is without the dedication of its Advisory Group. The Advisory Group shared real-world challenges and opportunities that in turn informed the development of the program’s content.
