In August, the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD), in partnership with the Diabetes MATCH Initiative at Emory Centers, completed another successful round of the National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) State Quality Specialist Training.
This four-session series, each approximately 3.5 hours, equips State Health Department staff with the skills and confidence to provide high-quality technical assistance to organizations implementing and scaling the National DPP lifestyle change program.
The most recent training brought together 11 diabetes program staff from six states – Alaska, California, Hawaiʻi, Nevada, Vermont, and Wyoming – for an engaging, hands-on learning experience. Participants explored practical strategies to support local program implementation, promote sustainability, and strengthen statewide diabetes prevention efforts.
Following the training, participants joined a series of onboarding calls to reinforce learning and apply their new skills in real-world settings.
Through this ongoing partnership with the Diabetes MATCH, NACDD continues to build state capacity to deliver effective, evidence-based diabetes prevention programs – helping more communities across the country access proven resources to prevent type 2 diabetes and improve population health.
