Nimisha Bhakta, MPH

Nimisha Bhakta serves as the Section Director of Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention Section at Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). In this role, she provides leadership, direction, and strategic planning for implementing many evidence-based public health programs to prevent chronic diseases and improve health and wellness of Texans. She directs initiatives to increase awareness and educate public on self-management of chronic conditions.

Nimisha earned her Master of Public Health from Texas A&M University Health Science Center at College Station, Texas. She has worked in the chronic disease area for more than a decade. She has published and presented her scientific work at several national and state conferences.
