Impact Brief – August 2022
NACDD recently updated the Chronic Disease Competencies. The focus of the update was to:
- Reduce the total number of Competencies (now at 90, down from 124) across the existing seven competency areas to improve overall usability
- Elevate health equity throughout
- Clarify the focus of individual Competencies and reduce duplication of concepts across Competencies
- Revise complicated or outdated language
The Competency Assessment has also been updated with these new competencies. You and your staff can access the full list of revised Competencies and the link to the Competency Assessment on the NACDD website.
Please email CPHL@chronicdisease.org if you have any questions about the Chronic Disease Competencies or the Competency Assessment.
