Call for Abstracts: The 2018 Environmental Public Health Tracking Virtual Conference, May 2-3, 2018

In preparation for The 2018 Environmental Public Health Tracking Virtual Conference, the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) is seeking abstracts for poster presentations that demonstrate how environmental health impacts chronic disease. We also are interested in poster presentations that explore how Environmental Public Health Tracking has partnered with environmental and public health practitioners to address chronic disease.

The 2018 Environmental Public Health Tracking Virtual Conference will be held May 2-3, 2018, and will include topics such as asthma, air quality, heart disease, health equity and the environment, and others.

2018 ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES 

1.    Align your submission with the conference purpose     
Conference Purpose: The 2018 Environmental Public Health Tracking Virtual Conference will serve as a venue for collaboration between state leaders, decision makers, and practitioners working in environmental health and chronic disease prevention as well as provide a forum for public health leaders, subject matter experts, and public health practitioners at state health departments to share best practices and lessons learned.

The conference aims to increase awareness and knowledge about the role of environmental hazards in asthma and other chronic diseases and to highlight the utility of the National Environmental Public Health Tracking Program in addressing these public health issues. Conference content will include topics such as asthma, air quality, cancer, heart disease, health equity and the environment, and others.

2.    Abstract submission details    

Session Title: Provide the official name of the poster presentation. Select a title that represents your topic and that will appeal to attendees. Please refrain from using technical terms and acronyms within your title wherever possible. Limit the title to 12 words.

Abstract: Provide a description of your proposed poster presentation in no more than 350 words. Describe the poster purpose and goals. Please be as thoughtful, specific, and clear as possible. The submitter will be responsible for developing the poster presentation according to what is described in the abstract.
 
Teaser:
 Develop a brief and enticing description of your poster presentation for the virtual platform and for promotions. Include three sentences that describe: 1) the problem or background/relevance; 2) the approach you take/recommend; and 3) and the takeaway (learning objective) for the attendee.

3. Submit Abstract by March 7, 2018, at 5:00 PM EST
