Become an Asthma Champion by taking a course offered by the American Lung Association to learn how you can improve lung health in your community.
Use Data to Drive Change
Leverage NACDD’s School-Based Strategies to Address Childhood Asthma Story Map to identify communities with the greatest need for asthma-related interventions.
Support School-Based Interventions
- Partner with school health programs to promote Stock Asthma Medication laws and ensure school personnel are trained to respond to asthma emergencies.
- Promote adoption of EXHALE strategies, CDC’s framework for asthma control ,with a focus on environmental improvements, education, and health system engagement.
Foster Cross-Sector Partnerships
- Collaborate with local health systems, environmental agencies, housing partners, and education departments to implement cross-sector asthma management strategies.
- Engage community-based organizations and families to help ensure solutions are tailored and responsive to community needs.
Advocate and Educate
- Raise awareness about and promote policies that support clean air, healthy housing, and access to care.
- Share success stories and promising practices from your state to inspire and inform others.
