Dear NACDD Members,
 
Effective, April 2, 2018, Jean O’Connor, JD, DrPH, has resigned her position as President of the NACDD Board of Directors to take on a consultant role with NACDD and also with the Task Force for Global Health. Gabriel Kaplan, PhD, NACDD President-Elect, will assume the role of President and other outstanding positions on the board will be backfilled according to the Association’s By-Laws.
 
At NACDD, Jean will be leading our orientation program for new chronic disease directors, which provides an introductory course in the role, terminology, and best practices for success for our public health staff entering this new role. Jean, herself, previously served the Georgia Department of Public Health as a chronic disease director.
 
We are delighted to welcome Jean to the NACDD team, and are excited about the many contributions she will no doubt make to the organization and to our Members.
