Conducting Cost Analyses: A First Step to Assess Cost-Effectiveness of Public Health Programs
Tuesday, March 12, 2019, 2:30 -2:50 p.m. ET
Sponsor: CDC

Join us for a 20-minute Coffee Break for an introduction to performing cost analyses to assess cost-effectiveness of public health programs, which will incorporate examples from CDC’s Evaluation and Program Effectiveness Team in the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention.

This presentation will focus on how to conduct a cost analysis in the context of a broader evaluation of a public health program that will combine costs and outcome evaluation results and assess cost-effectiveness. The presenter will first briefly review foundational concepts of economic evaluation that have been presented in previous Coffee Breaks and provide an overview of the framework and methods to be used to conduct a cost and cost-effectiveness analysis. Then, the presenter will walk through a detailed example of the cost and cost-effectiveness components of an ongoing evaluation of a hypertension-related program to describe the methods used for both analyses. Finally, the presenter will provide resources for further learning and take questions from the audience.

No need to register, simply join this event via Adobe Connect and call 855-644-0229. Conference ID: 8247938.
