New Publication: Including Community Health Workers in Health Care Settings: A Checklist for Public Health Practitioners

The Community Health Workers (CHW) Inclusion Checklist was recently released and presents a general framework for public health practitioners to lead or assist in including CHWs and integrating the CHW scope of practice in health care settings. CHWs help build individual and community capacity to improve health outcomes by increasing health knowledge and self-sufficiency through a range of activities, such as outreach, community education, informal counseling, social support, and advocacy. Other resources to support integration of CHWs into community and clinical care teams include:
