Monica Morales

Mónica Morales is the Chronic Disease Director for the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). In her current post, Ms. Morales oversees programs that address environmental and occupational health, injury prevention, chronic disease prevention, and problem gambling. Prior to joining CDPH, Mónica was the Child, Family, and Community Wellness Deputy Bureau Chief at the State of Nevada’s Division of Public & Behavioral Health, where she supported programs focusing on women, infant, and children, chronic disease prevention, and the Office of Food Security. Mónica was raised in Watsonville, Calif., and holds a BA in Sociology from UC Santa Cruz and a master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from Columbia University in New York.
