NACDD Partners with Physical Therapists

To increase the availability of arthritis-appropriate evidence-based interventions, NACDD’s Arthritis Initiative partners with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) on funding for APTA state chapters and physical therapy practices. Evidenced-based interventions for arthritis can reduce pain, increase mobility, and improve quality of life.

Ā The first round of funding, awarded in July, supports the Illinois and Iowa state APTA chapters and Vertex Physical Therapy Specialists, a physical therapy practice in Columbia, South Carolina, in offering the Arthritis Foundation’s Walk With Ease. Walk With Ease is a self-directed program to residents with arthritis. NACDD encourages APTA state chapters and physical therapy practices to apply for the second round of funding (award expected in October) using the application materials here.
