The Million Hearts® Hypertension Control Challenge recognizes clinicians and practices that have excelled in hypertension control among their patients, achieving blood pressure readings below 140 mm Hg/90 mm Hg among 80% of their population ages 18–85 years who have hypertension.  

As of 2024, CDC has recognized 199 Hypertension Control Champions across 44 states and the District of Columbia. Learn about the successful strategies used by Hypertension Control Champions to help patients with their blood pressure 

The Challenge is open to clinicians and medical practices located in the United States and its territories (potential applicants should review full eligibility requirements). Strategies used by Champions that support hypertension control may be written into a success story and posted on this website.
