NACDD partners with CDC’s Division of Cancer Prevention and Control to develop innovative public health strategies for cancer prevention and control. These projects support public health professionals to make it easier for people to reduce carcinogen exposure and adopt healthy behaviors where they live, work, learn, and play.
NACDD’s Cancer Peer-to-Peer Learning program is a peer-informed learning and engagement opportunity that provides awardees of CDC’s National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program and Colorectal Cancer Control Program a space to share and learn from each other. The program serves over 350 people and includes webinars, calls series, and virtual multi-day trainings.
NACDD’s Cancer Prevention Across the Lifespan” project develops innovative approaches for public health practitioners and community leaders to implement evidence-based strategies in their communities to decrease cancer risk and reduce people’s exposure to carcinogens.
The Fundamental Learning Collaborative for the Cancer Surveillance Community (FLccSC) is a web-based learning management system for National Program of Cancer Registries’ State Health Department Central Cancer Registries. State-specific learning modules allow Registries to manage internal and external trainings for employees. Since 2019, NACDD has supported the nationwide expansion of FLccSC.
In partnership with the CDC, NACDD leads a network dedicated to accelerating the reduction of commercial tobacco use and mitigating the incidence and mortality of tobacco-related cancers. The initiative focuses on prevention and control efforts explicitly tailored for people with disabilities, including veterans.
