Sara Hanlon joined the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors in 2017 as a worksite health consultant. She currently is the employer subject matter expert for the National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) at their Customer Service Center.

Through this role, she provides technical assistance to employers and other commercial organizations interested in adopting and covering the National DPPā€™s lifestyle change program. Sara recently led CDC Work@Health, a capacity building project for NACDD that supported seven state health professionals and more than 50 employers in completing training curriculum in workplace health promotion strategies. Through this process, she received her certification as a CDC Work@HealthĀ® Master Trainer.

Prior to NACDD, Sara launched her consulting firm, Empower Outcomes, to build on her more than two decades of experience in worksite health promotion and benefits planning. Her experience includes serving as Vice President of Risk Solutions at the National Business Coalition on Health, as Vice President of the Mid-America Coalition on Health Care, and as the Director of Quality Initiatives at the American Heart Association.

Sara received her BA in Psychology from Avila University and her MBA from Keller Graduate School, and holds a certification for Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

She lives is Florida with her husband. Her hobbies include walking on the beach, traveling and watching Kansas City Chiefs football.
