Cassandra Dove Brown, MPH

Cassandra Dove Brown is the Chief Programs Officer for the Office of Preventive Health and Health Equity within the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH).
Brown has been in public health for nearly 20 years and has experience working with special populations, infectious diseases, policy and environmental systems change at community and clinical levels, diabetes prevention and control, injury prevention, early intervention, and epidemiology.
Previous positions held include the Chronic Disease Director and the Diabetes Prevention and Control Program Director with MSDH; Epidemiologist for Emergency Preparedness, Infectious Diseases and Immunization with the Shelby County Health Department; Information Systems Specialist for the Southeastern Health Disparities Collaborative with the Mississippi Primary Health Care Association; Injury Prevention Program Coordinator with MSDH; Early Intervention Program Coordinator with MSDH; and Parent Aide Coordinator with the Vicksburg Child Abuse Prevention Center.
She received a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Jackson State University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in industrial engineering technology.
She resides in Tupelo, Miss., with her husband, John.
