One year of service can spark a lifetime of purpose.
In collaboration with Public Health AmeriCorps and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, NACDD is supporting the recruitment, training, and development of the next generation of public health leaders.
PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT
NACDDâs Public Health AmeriCorps (PHA) program was recently featured on the Association of State and Territorial Health Officialsâ podcast, âBuilding Public Health Leaders: Voices from Public Health AmeriCorps.â Listen to an insightful Q&A with one of our Host Site Supervisors and Service Members.
NACDD’s Public Health AmeriCorps program is currently recruiting Service Members to support public health efforts across multiple states.
Are you a health department or community-based organization interested in hosting a Service Member?
Step out of the classroom and into your community.
In this moment of global health challenges and inequity, change starts locally. Public Health AmeriCorps provides a real-world, practical way to introduce young people to careers in public health.
Qualified undergraduate and graduate students can apply for year-long service opportunities in state and local settings to gain first-hand experience in communities that have been historically marginalized.
The Center for Advancing Healthy Communities has been working to build resilient and inclusive communities across the country.
Public Health AmeriCorps pairs students with experienced public health practitioners in State Health Departments and community-based organizations who are passionate about improving the health and wellness of their communities by addressing:
Food nutrition and security
Access to safe physical activity opportunities
Social connectedness
Your knowledge and passion are all you need to serve.
Public Health AmeriCorps is a program for doers, an opportunity for students to see how theory meets practice and help tackle real challenges facing their communities.Â
Beyond that, it provides access to practical hands-on training, professional development, and individual mentoring to help grow a career in public health. Join us to help build healthier, more resilient, inclusive communities.
