Million Hearts^® and NACDD are thrilled to recognize UCHealth Memorial Hospital as a Million Hearts^® Health System! This is our sixth designee and the first in Colorado. Through the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention (DHDSP) 1817 funding from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), UCHealth Memorial Hospital System developed a successful hybrid cardiac rehabilitation program. In addition, they prescribed aspirin for 100% of post-myocardial infraction in-patients at discharge and made smoking cessation a priority through screening and counseling. UCHealth Memorial Hospital System also aims to improve the health system’s air quality through having a tobacco free campus, which includes onsite employee vehicles. NACDD and CDC also helped to coordinate a visit from Dr. Janet Wright, Director of DHDSP and staff from CDPHE at a congratulatory event held at UCHealth!
