ATLANTA — On Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2018, from 1-2:00 p.m. ET, the U.S. Surgeon General VADM Jerome Adams, MD, MPH, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Brenda Fitzgerald, MD, alongside other chronic disease experts will participate in a National Association of Chronic Disease Directors panel discussion and live webcast, “Better Health Through Better Partnerships: How State Public Health Agencies Can Foster Innovative Relationships to Support Population Health.” Additional panelists include: Ursula Bauer, PhD, MPH, Director of the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion at CDC and NACDD Board President Jean O’Connor, JD, DrPH. The panel discussion will be followed by a brief Q&A.

The fireside chat kicks off NACDD’s 3rd Annual Program Success Showcase, an invitation-only poster session featuring NACDD’s project portfolio, held in Decatur, Ga.
This year’s Program Success Showcase theme, “Promoting Health, Preventing Disease, and Partnering for the Future,” features more than 65 projects bringing innovations in chronic disease prevention and control and health promotion to nearly every U.S. state and territory. Projects range from expanding the Diabetes Prevention Program into four new states, to creating inclusive opportunities for physical activity for people with disabilities, and to using artificial intelligence to help women with breast cancer make informed decisions about their treatment plans.
