Phrases (“”)
By using double quotes around a set of words, you are asking the search engine to find those exact words in that exact order.
Operators (and, or, not)
The default behavior is to consider all of the words in a search. This is the same as using the “and” operator between each word or phrase. If you want to specifically allow any one of several words or phrases, you can use the “or” operator. If you want to exclude a specific word or phrase, you can use the “not” operator.
For example, if you were to search for John or Jane and not Doe, your results would contain John Smith and Jane Smith but John Doe and Jane Doe would be excluded.
