Amanda Martínez

Amanda K. Martínez has 20 years of public health and healthcare experience, with a focus on program design, administration, and evaluation. Amanda has worked as a public health consultant with the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) since 2014 on school health, public health leadership and practice, and most recently, cardiovascular health projects. In her current role, she supports the Multi-state EHR-based Network for Disease Surveillance project.

Prior to NACDD, Amanda worked at the National School Boards Association for seven years, where she led a project to support leadership and governance for coordinated school health, among other grant projects. Much of her early career experience was at the community level, including work as a prevention team leader at a multicultural center serving youth and families in Washington, DC. In addition, Amanda is a registered nurse with clinical experience in obstetrics and medical-surgical nursing.

Amanda holds a BS in Biology, an MPH, Maternal and Child Health, from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and an MSN, Clinical Nurse Leader, from the University of Virginia. She resides in Charlottesville, Va., with her husband and three children.
