Kristen Alford is a Public Health Consultant in the Diabetes Practice Area at NACDD. Prior to joining NACDD, she served as an associate professor of social work and public health at Calvin University. Kristen also previously worked in the New York State Department of Health in the Comprehensive Cancer Control Program.

Kristen received a PhD in social work and a Master of Public Health from Michigan State University, and a Master of Social Work from State University of New York at Albany.

She lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with her husband and three sons. She is originally from Western New York and is an avid Buffalo Bills fan.
