In her role for NACDD, Trina develops evaluation plans and tools, tracks the team’s projects, analyzes and incorporates qualitative and quantitative data into key reports, and highlights successes in diabetes prevention and control.

Prior to working with NACDD, she spent 18 years with the Florida Department of Health—six years in environmental health and 12 in chronic disease prevention. Her primary focus in chronic disease prevention has been diabetes. Trina was the Administrator of the Diabetes Prevention and Control Program for five years. During her tenure at the Florida Department of Health, she acted as Interim Chief for both the Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention and the Bureau of Tobacco Free Florida, with oversight of large teams and multimillion-dollar budgets.

Trina also is an expert in legislative analysis. She served as a Legislative Coordinator for the Division of Community Health, where she trained staff and finalized bill analyses.

Trina received her master’s degree in Applied Anthropology from the University of South Florida. For fun, she loves to hike with her family and has been to numerous state and national parks.
