Become an Advocate

As a public health professional, you’re already well positioned to become an advocate. It takes commitment and subject-area expertise to make a persuasive argument to a policymaker or other public health stakeholder, but NACDD can offer support, resources, and guidance. Our state and federal policy page includes external sites that will help you in determining your representation, researching a particular chronic disease, or tracking legislation.

There are also plenty of ways to become involved through NACDD. Any Representative Member may join our Legislative and Policy Committee. We meet on the third Monday of the month at 1 p.m. ET. To receive email updates about policy news and NACDD’s advocacy efforts, subscribe to the Government Affairs email by contacting Director of Membership & PMO, Tamika Smith.
