During the next 10 months, a virtual reality simulation product will undergo testing. The product will help women, who are diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, to understand their diagnosis, make informed decisions about treatment, and increase engagement with their medical care team. NACDD works on the development of this product with Dr. Lisa Richardson, director of the CDC Division of Cancer Prevention and Control (DCPC) who leads the project for CDC.

 Called “Talking to Someone: Triple Negative Breast Cancer Simulation,” the simulation is one of three products developed in the first phase of the NACDD Innovative Communication in Cancer Prevention and Control Project. Valuable contributors to the project along with CDC include: Kognito LLC, a virtual reality simulation developer; Westat Incorporated; Northside Hospital Cancer Institute; Greenville Hospital System; and many key informants.
