Marisa Lara is an Administrator at the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health Services, managing multiple programs to prevent and manage diabetes and heart disease. Marisa has worked in state and local public health positions for 15 years. Her interests include building partnerships between public health, community, and clinical organizations to improve health outcomes, as well as using data to inform program implementation and evaluation efforts. She is passionate about supporting breastfeeding as a cross-cutting (and often overlooked) strategy to prevent chronic disease and promote optimal health for women and children.
Marisa is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Lactation Counselor. She has a bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences and a Master of Public Health from the University of New Hampshire. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, two young children, and their German Shepherd puppy.
