The purpose of Health Systems / CVH Network is to support health departments to implement population health improvement strategies in healthcare systems, which is primarily associated with CDC DHDSP funded activities in the 1815 and 1817 grants. This means providing health departments with:

• forums for sharing ideas on how to implement interventions and generally learning from each other
• virtual and regional learning opportunities with subject matter experts
• a connection to HDSP and community-clinical linkages staff in other states working on similar projects

The primary role of the CVH Council is to:

• represent health departments to NACDD, CDC, and other partners
• set the priorities and best methods for providing support to the CVH Network and to health departments
• coordinate and integrate activities with other NACDD Forums, Councils, and Workgroups.

CVH Council members are elected into their positions and serve a 3-year rotating term.
